Dóra Jóhannsdóttir

Dora was head writer of the annual satirical comedy sketch show "Áramótaskaupið," which aired on RÚV, the Icelandic national TV station, in 2017 and 2019. In 2022, she co-wrote and directed that show, which received the Edda award for the best comedy show on TV. Dora also co-wrote "Stella Blómkvist 2," which was nominated for the best script at the Edda Awards in 2022.

In 2017, she co-wrote and co-directed sketches for Red Nose Day in support of UNICEF. She has also written and directed numerous advertisements. Her stage-directorial work includes "The Flick" at the Reykjavík City Theater in 2017.

Dora is the founder of Improv Iceland, the country's first long-form improv theater group. She currently manages Improv skólinn, a school offering improv and sketch classes. Dora has performed in various stage productions, TV shows, advertisements, and films.

Dóra útskrifaðist með Mfa gráðu af leikarabraut LHÍ 2006. Hún lærði improv og sketsa-skrif hjá UCB NY og hjá The Second City Chicago.

Hún hefur leikið í hinum ýmsu uppfærslum hjá Þjóðleikhúsinu, Borgarleikhúsinu, ÍD og sjálfstæðum leikhópum og leikstýrt hjá Borgarleikhúsinu. Hún er einn af stofnendum leikhópanna Vér Morðingjar og Ég og Vinir Mínir.

Dóra stofnaði ásamt öðrum félagasamtökin/leikfélagið Improv Ísland og er skólastjóri Improv skólans.

Hún hefur skrifað grín fyrir Dag Rauða Nefsins (Unicef) og ýmsar auglýsingar og herferðir. Hún var einn af höfundum Stella Blómkvist 2. Dóra var yfirhandritshöfundur Áramótaskaupsins 2017 og 2019 og meðhöfundur og leikstjóri árið 2022.
